Why This Reference Exists
Printed San Dimas directories stopped being a single everyday source, but the underlying records remain in separate hands. Parcel facts sit with the Los Angeles County Assessor, recorded instruments with the RR/CC, and case files with Los Angeles Superior Court. California controls vital and voter access. The Historical Society and LA County Library preserve the older directory, newspaper, census, and local-history layers. A reader looking for a current parcel or tracing a past household should not have to guess which office owns the next step.
The pages are organized around the real San Dimas record trail: an address can become an AIN, an AIN can lead to a specific property inquiry, and a dated owner can lead to the Norwalk deed index. A family-history question may instead begin with a directory year, a clipping, or a census geography.
What the Pages Point Toward
- Different search angles: the street directory follows address records, the directory book follows historical collections, and the resident lookup checks one person across official sources.
- Local record keepers: the Assessor, RR/CC, Superior Court, City Clerk, Elections offices, vital-record custodians, libraries, and Historical Society.
- Access paths: web portals, public terminals, phone and counter contacts, mail orders, California Public Records Act requests, and closed-stack reference help.
- Place and time clues: ZIP geography, AIN and legal descriptions, Pomona Valley indexing, Mud Springs history, and directory years before San Dimas incorporated.
What This Reference Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference with no connection to San Dimas City Hall, Los Angeles County, California agencies, any court, or any library. It does not hold government records and cannot make a custodian answer a request.
- It cannot confirm that a named person currently lives at a San Dimas address.
- It cannot pull, certify, correct, or remove a record for a reader.
- It cannot add anyone to or remove anyone from a government roll.
- It cannot replace legal advice from a licensed California attorney.
- It cannot guarantee that a portal, fee, year run, or office detail remains unchanged.
Only the custodian can certify, amend, or explain its record. Nothing found through this reference may be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision.
